RTSP Streaming latency too high

Hi All,

This is my first post to this forum, I am developing an application which can receive RTSP streams from internet and local LAN.
I first used the android browser itself to receive streaming but I got 3-5 minutes of latency between actual and received video, so
I written a code to manually receive streaming using android mediaPlayer framework but still no improvement..

So Is there any way I can configure the latency/buffering? or is there any other option to do low latency streaming in case of RTSP?
