the Nexus Prime, a hot new smartphone that was expected to be unveiled next week. Now, we're getting word that Google and Samsung may be delaying the arrival of this highly-anticipated smartphone. In a statement released today, the two companies said they won't be showing off the Nexus Prime at the Samsung Unpacked event next week during CTIA as we expected.

More info about Samsung and Google phones.

"The Nexus Prime is also known as the Galaxy Nexus and the Droid Prime. Whatever you call it, this smartphone was expected to give us the first look at Google's next version of Android known as Ice Cream Sandwich. The two companies issued this statement:

"Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced."

Even though the phone won't be unveiled as early as we hoped, new reports have cropped up that have given us some information about what the phone will offer. More specifically, reports have said that the phone will be exclusive to Verizon Wireless and will come with a 1.2GHz new processor, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. The phone is also expected to have a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280x720, 5 megapixel camera and the ability to record 1080p HD video."
