Hey all! A while back I made an Android app that I thought was pretty great. But I didn't have the ability to test it on different phones. And I really wanted to get feedback from other people before they flamed me in the comments, gave me a 2 star rating because I left out one feature and generally blacklisted my app for life.

Some of the bigger companies and well funded projects will run closed beta tests before they launch. But that's not something most indie developers (like myself) have the time or resources to do.

So I put my Android project on the back burner and created http://bettatest.com. Bettatest lets you host closed (limited user) beta tests with forums and blogs. The tests use a game system to get your testers active and involved in the project. That same game system helps the tests maintain themselves, weeding out the bad eggs and giving you the best results for your beta test.

It's free to sign up and run a beta test. And setting up your test, blog and forums takes less than five minutes so you can get back to work on your great idea.

I am an indie developer and have been doing this in my spare time. So http://bettatest.com is still in Alpha testing and may be a bit buggy and missing some important features. So I'd appreciate it if you'd also consider joining the developer's test for http://bettatest.com. You can help me finish and polish my site as well as shape it to fit your needs.

Check it out!
Thanks!

PS: I know I'm not involved in this forum. But I really believe that bettatest is something that can help the people here or I wouldn't have posted this here. That and it is free to try so it's not just an ad. Thanks for not cutting my thread. :D
