I bought HTC sensation xe running gingerbread 2.3.4. Morning I charged the battery to 100% and the battery is down to ~ 30% after 7 hours of usage. Culprit seems to be display, Display timeout is 45 seconds, it's showing continuous blue line even for the times when the display is off. Anyone encountered this type of bug before ?

That doesn't sound like a bug. Most smartphones need to be charged at least once a day and the Sensation does have a large screen so I'm guessing what you are dealing with is just normal smartphone battery life. I have an Xperia play and I only get around 12 hours out of a charge with normal usage and I can imagine that the Sensation XE sucks more power because it has better hardware.

Thanks for the reply,

My concern is the continuous blue line in the display setting...which is not the same in other android mobiles ..that is why it seems battery is continuously consumed even whn the phone is in idle cond.

Are you using anything that interferes with the display timeout?

no not exactly...my ques is why I am getting a continuous graph in Setting - About phone - Battery - Battery use. with just 4 processes running.

That's why I'm asking. To be continuous then there's something stopping the screen switching off. Screebl, for example, switches the screen off when placed screen down or other user set prefs. But some users find that, because it overrides the android ui screen timeout and therefore causes a conflict, it uses more battery.

It should be in manage apps if the uninstall option isn't in the market.

Try setting brightness to automatic?

My Sensation XE is the same, battery use shows 87% screen, 5% wifi (which is on all the time) 4% cell standby, 2% phone idle, 2% voice calls, but my phone has been in my pocket and i have not other apps installed that manage the screen

If you are connected to a WiFi or 3G, you have to open other programs, these will affect the battery, causing the battery is low,My battery often power consumption, I buy Extended Emergency Battery capacity, not expensive, easy to carry, and I especially like the convenient...
