Hi

I'm stumped. I've read about WiFi failures under ICS but I'm still running Gingerbread.

WiFi turns on for 15 seconds and then turns off. In that time, no networks are found.

I've completed a factory reset but the problem persists. Phone is 14 months old and has only shown this problem in the last week or two.

Is this likely to be hardware after all.

Any help appreciated.

It could be hardware. Have you tested it on multiple wifi connections?

Yup. never seems to find a network before it closes.

Assuming its hardware, do you know if these things can be repaired?

They can be sometimes, but they would most likely replace your entire phone.

Try this first though:

Go into settings-wifi-press menu-advanced settings. Scroll down to the field where you can enter in a static IP address. Is there a number entered in there, or is it blank?
