Personal text shortcuts

I have had my galaxy 3s for a couple of days, and in a way I already miss my iPhone. I would like to be able to type a shortcut & have it automatically change in to the word I want. For example hwb will change to hotwater bottle. I have looked all through the phone but can't find any thing. I am not even sure what it is called in the android world.

But I have to say that I prefer my galaxy to my iPhone 4, I wanted to escape from Aple.

Hello.

No I haven't found an answer. I wondered if one could contact Samsung and ask them if they would consider including this feature in their next upgrade. I am getting used to not having the short cuts by now and I do like the phone and now I don't miss my iphone as much. But I can't understand Apples complaints that Samsung were pinching ideas from them. I find my Galaxy 3 very different from my iphone 4. Is there a FaceTime facility by any chance.
