Gallery app without folders?

My phone creates a folder for everything. I've got 3 folders for downloaded pictures and 4 for bluetooth. It's frustrating.

I need an app like the default gallery on my old phone (Nokia N8). It just showed all image and video files in a grid/list (excluding album art, and system files) arranged by the date they were shot or added to the phone. It was so much easier and straightforward. And sorting was done by tags. If I had 500 photos in a grid I could just select the "donwload tag" and see only those that I've downloaded from the browser. Tags appeared in a handy word cloud. It did most of the things automatically but offered personalizing in just a few clicks.

I downloaded many gallery apps (F-Stop Media Gallery, PicsArt Viewer, Gallery ICS, QuickPic, ) and still nothing comes even close. I really don't understand why there are so many gallery apps and they all look and work the same way. There's literally absolutely no differentiation whatsoever.

Any ideas?

Maybe I am misunderstanding your need but F-Stop Media Gallery has an "All media" folder on the dashboard that shows all valid media that is included in its scan. Tags can also be easily added and viewed by their tags. Have you looked at their tutorial? I can't post links by it is at fstopapp dot com.

F-Stop also provides easy organization with albums and smart albums.

Let me know if I'm missing your point.
