Google has rolled out a number of services on Google Play that will help developers. In addition to the hotly-anticipated new Android game features, Google has added three new location-based APIs as well as a number of awesome services for developers.
Here are those location-based APIs:
Overall, this is a nice set of APIs and I think it will definitely help developers create very innovative new apps.
Here are those location-based APIs:
- Fused Location Provider: New low-power location service that uses less than 1% of battery life per hour.
- Geofencing: Let's you define virtual areas in Google Maps and will trigger the app when the user walks into that defined area.
- Activity Recognition: Automatically figures out when the user is walking, cycling or driving.
Overall, this is a nice set of APIs and I think it will definitely help developers create very innovative new apps.
