Happy with rooted phone but after a week it rendered unusable

I was excited after I rooted my phone because I was able to download a lot of stuff on my phone. After a week, when I tried to reboot it, it won't start and for an hour it didn't change the status and remained crashed. So I don't know what to do and I knowing that I won't be able to return it because rooting or unlocking phones makes your contract null and void.

Can you charge the battery. And it is an galaxy s (gt-i9000)?
