Do you remember back in the day when you got your first mobile phone and thought it was super cool (even if it was a brick!)

The first that was actually mine (and didn't belong to my parents) was a LG VX5300.

My first mobile phone was a Motorola bag phone, which laid on the console and had had a coax wire going to an external antenna magnetically mounted on the trunk lid. It of course was analog, since this was back in 1997. The phone did have excellent range, but you had to be careful not to go into roaming or go over your minutes, only had 30, and everything counted, incoming calls and there were no free times, only 911 calls were free, except for calls to the provider. The phone was heavy, had a power cord going to the cigarette lighter and a corded handset, which was about 2 feet long, coiled like a landline, I think they tried to make it look like a landline inside your car.

Motorola Modified Brick..... In 1994 I was a Customer Service Rep for LA Cellular at the corporate offices in Cyperss, CA. As a perk, employees received free service but had to purchase the phone. Back then, airtime charges were ¢.25 peek (M-F 8am-9pm) and ¢.10 (off peak).

I think it was a Motorola, a landline type handset sitting on top of a battery nearly as big as that in a small car! :D

Oh yeah, I was too cool with this bad boy Ericsson PF768, until I broke the flip off. It still worked, but then it got peroxide in it one day when I decided to answer the phone while bleaching my hair. I know, I know...

I brought my first phone in 1998 whilst on a work placement during my university course. Loved the feel of it but can't believe that having the choice to change the keypad background was as customisable as it got. How far we have come.

My first phone was a Motorola Quench. No capacitive screen and no firmware updates at all! I was stuck at Android 1.6 so I installed a custom ROM having base code 2.3!

P.S. I know, my generation is on the brink of exciting tech!

Bosch 607, back in 97 :) Used it for 7 years.
Then it made place for the bulletproof Nokia 5210 for several years. Fabulous!

Sprint PCS MM8300SVR Silver Sanyo flip phone with camera & speakerphone.

A solid little device that survived alot of accidental abuse.

I had a pager before a phone but I don't remember what brand or model it was. Bought it at Radio Shack.

Showing my age here... a Motorola StarTac 85. I'd had a couple before which were supplied by employers, but the startac was my first mobile for personal use.
