The camera will take .3gp video at a resolution of HD-720p by flashing a modification found on XDA's website. I also I downloaded the Nexus 7 Camera Unlocker app on Google Play and use it along with Google's stock Camera v2.4.018 apk.for taking 1.2 mp (4:3) still images with the front facing camera, despite being limited to a front-facing lens used primarily for the stock Face Unlocker app.

I was surprised at the video and image quality after a few small modifications. The Google stock camera v2.4.018 shows Panorama and Photosphere but are beyond the Nexus 7 (2012) capability.

Still, nice to be able to take decent quality images and video with a device that doesn't really have a stock user camera.
