help rooting s4 sgh i337m

can anyony help me root my sgh i337m? its a canadian model on the rogers network.. I was about to use the xda cf auto root using odin.. but it doesn't say anything about the firmware, does the firmware matter? coming from an iphone I know how important the firmware was when jailbreaking.. also I've noticed some discussion and concern regarding bootloaders.. is mine locked or unlocked? how can I tell? is this important? if anyone can help or point me to a recent and reliable guide it would be greatly appreciated :-) thanks!

You can root your device by using cf auto root for sgh i337m. Well about firmware i don't think it matters until you are using cf root for your own device !! until or unless you have not flashed any other ROM !

hey thanks for the reply... but what do you mean that you dont think it matters unless I'm going to use cf root on my own device? and what about the boot loader issue?
