should I stop a running app before uninstalling it?

I mean should I stop an app first in Task Manager before uninstalling?

No. The android uninstall process will stop the app and remove any internal data before deleting the apk file, plus remove any temporary changes made by the app.

I don't think stopping the application before uninstalling matters, While uninstalling Android system automatically stops the application. There is no need to be bothering about it !

Great! So the uninstall process will stop the app first

But does it remove ALL temporary and stray files?

@netaddict Some of the temporary files are leave behind while uninstalling, but i don't think they are going to hamper the space or performance or your device you could always remove them manually or can use some apps that will do this for you ! I am sure you can find some applications available in the play store that can do this for you ..... :)
