HTC One (M8) — Rumors on the HTC One 2 / M8 / All new HTC One (2014)

Hi peeps,

The all new HTC One or M8 or HTC One 2 (we still don't know what it will be called), will be unveiled on March 25th in New York and London. Here is what we've heard so far about the device.

  • It will have dual cameras on the back.
  • It will come with a Snapdragon 801 processor like the Galaxy S5.
  • It will be made of a sturdier metal with a more metallic look and feel.
  • It will be available with AT&T in the USA.
  • Come with the new UI from HTC, Sense 6.0. including a new BlinkFeed.
  • It will have expandable storage, an improvement from the 2013 HTC One.

Some rumours also states that HTC One 2, will posses Finger Print Scanner !! According to t3 reports this device will be able to take 3D mages and it's far more likely the extra hole will be a much improved fingerprint scanner.

I talked to Jeff Gordon at MWC and he wouldn't confirm anything about a finger scanner on the All New HTC One, but all the leaked pics show nothing resembling the biometric pad from the HTC One Max. It sounded like it wasn't terribly well received on that device and Jeff said HTC is very responsive to customer feedback and that if a piece of technology doesn't float with consumers HTC won't stick with it. I interpreted that to mean the scanner is out, but we'll see for sure in two weeks.

The Duo camera is for post-focusing/bokeh effects (blurred backgrounds)/3D effects. There's also meant to be a new Selfie mode with wide angle front-facing lens.
