Is rooting the best option...

...if all I want to do is get rid of bloatware and delete my sister's contacts from Facebook? (She was good enough to give me her phone.) My froyo THINKS it belongs to her still, 'cause every night it tries to back up the phone or download updates. I get multiple error messages every day...But I don't necessarily want a new operating system (an upgrade maybe--what's next, gingerbread?)...I just want to clean up what I've got. What do you think--is rooting still the thing to do? MAlonso

Well if the problem is with the accounts then goto the setting>accounts and remove all the accounts i.e facebook,gmail,......it will remove all the ... that you sister has and then again configure all the accounts by using your google account, fb account.......... :)
