I've just completed my pick of the ten best Android phones you can buy right now.

[EDIT: I've now added the latest additions to the top ten list]

My list is as follows:

  1. Galaxy Note 4
  2. LG G3
  3. Xperia Z3
  4. HTC One (M8)
  5. Sony Xperia Z2
  6. Samsung Galaxy S5
  7. Oppo Find 7
  8. Xperia Z3 Compact
  9. Moto G (2014). Nexus 5
  10. Huawei Ascend Mate 7

What is your top ten? Let me know how you would rank them (or what I missed!)

Well, @Kris I was wondering why you have put Samsung over the 4th and LG over the top :? I would say LG ROM doesn't have that much to offer rather than touch wiz no matter how much I hate touch wiz but can say it offers a whole different experience ! :* Anyway I don't know about top 10 but what I know is over my list

  1. Samsung S5
  2. Nexus 5
  3. LG G3
  4. OnePlusOne and
  5. HTC one M8

Rest of the device are not on my list ! :D

I suppose it's a matter of personal taste. The G3 is the latest and greatest on paper, but then the note 4 is getting released so on paper that should be top. Personally, I dislike TouchWiz and regard Samsung phones as pretty gimmicky (you may have heard me say this before (laughing)) while the G3 display somehow seems less vibrant than the one on my Nexus 5, the HTC One is too slippy, and the Oppo, OnePlus and Note are all ridiculously large. The Z2 is large, but still manageable, with a minimal Sony interface and is probably the only phone on the list that I would call a serious alternative to the Nexus (for me).

@sinkster, you are absolutely right - as soon as the Note 4 appears I expect it to pretty much top the list, if its anywhere near as good as i'm expecting. But we'll have to wait and see. Only two weeks now.

The Nexus 6 will replace the Nexus 5 and the Moto X+1 and Moto G2 will remove the current Motos unless they really mess something up.

We'll be updating the list with all the newest devices once we've had a chance to test tehm out so stay tuned.

We could even start a betting pool on what the final top ten will be!

Well in Samsung's case they have the infrastructure and money to drop every idea they have on the market to see what works. Sadly that also means that your flagship might be superceded only a few months later.

Some companies, I'm thinking HTC in particular, have resisted the constant refresh cycle of more than a device a year but considering how well the strategy is working for the OEMs that do it I expect they won't be able to resist for long. Heck, they just dropped the Windows M8 after all.

What is listed here are currently best to buy Android phones, but if one want a more cost-effective Android phone, then you should get some other most popular China Android phone brands like Huawei, XiaoMi, ThL, etc. With the release of XiaoMi 4, XiaoMi 3 has gone through a big discount. But it still worth your buy currently. Some sites now offer it at 61% OFF!

Looking at last season's models is a good tip if you want to save money and still get a good phone. We'll be doing a roundup of the best cheap phones soon.

I've been using a OnePlus One for about a month now and I think it's amazing. The specs are awesome, battery life is very good, but the best, funnest part is CyanogenMod. I've had a tremendous time playing with customization, it has become one of those freedoms I had no idea I was missing until I experienced it. The OPO would be in my top 10.

I agree with you putting the Nexus 5 near the top. It is still one heck of a phone considering its price and buttery smoothness running stock android.
