Samsung Galaxy S3 — Update Fix

Hi,

A few months ago I got a message that my Galaxy S3 needed an update and I clicked ok. That was the last time I was able to use my phone. Is there a fix? Back then I contacted Samsung and the tech tried to fix it over the phone but that did not work. I sent it away but because my screen is cracked Samsung wouldn't fix the update until I got it fixed.

Someone recommended a local shop that can fix the update without fixing the screen which is fine but before doing that I wondered if there anyone knows a fix? I've looked through the forum and can see fixes for problems related to the update but my phone is stuck on the "Samsung" screen.

Sorry I see there is a thread for the Android 4.3 update but don't know how to move my question there.
