Yesterday I put up my Android app on the Google play store, with in one hour i got the mail from google play support team regarding Suspension of app.

REASON FOR REMOVAL: Violation of the intellectual property and impersonation or deceptive behavior provisions of the Content Policy. Please refer to the IP infringement and impersonation policy help article for more information.

Your app and/or elements of its listing on Google Play, including title, description, logo(s), or promotional screen-shots must not include unauthorized usage of protected works belonging to a third party.

Your app icon and promotional screen-shots must not contain images that appear confusingly similar to existing products.

My app name: Live Photo Wallpaper

i am taking screen shots from devcie only.

I don't copy the icon and backgrounds of any existing application, that are developed by my designer. This is my second app got suspended from Google play store with same reason. so,can any one give me solution am i missing anything?

Thanks in advance..

Well, that clearly states that your app is violating some IP policy i.e. your application is very much similar with some other application over their store. I would say it may have happen because you have mistakenly put the logos or images which is similar with some other, anyway there’s nothing more you can do other than removing all the copyright image, or anything and can

File an appeal over here:

Also note that this was your second warning then I would say better to move ahead more cautiously, this time if you violate their guidelines you are going to get your developer account suspended.

Hey @Somnadh, Yes you are correct previously, it was but now they are getting strict and stricter with the apps quality, think it like this there are "1,418,037" or maybe more apps available over the store and (according to my opinion) I don't think now they require developers to design app for their platform, but now developer need help of PlayStore in order to earn some profit out of it (reason it has larger user base to target)! And Google knows this very well, previously they were getting criticism because of having low quality app and now they have started fixing things up ! What this means is every developer needs to give quality otherwise they are going to get their developer account suspended :).

Hope this clears some of your doubt about the apps quality !

No problem at all @Somnadh ! :) And yes all the best for you upcoming application, don't screw things up this time. ;)

And one more thing which I missed is the percentage of low quality apps over GooglePlayStore is around 15% not 50% :D

I recently uploaded my app in the google play console account. I made all my images by my self and I have all of my psds as well but every time I publish my app google remove it from play store with the reason Violation of the intellectual property and impersonation or deceptive behavior provisions of the Content Policy. I have written all of my store listing my self. I dont what is the problem and I am very frustrated. I tried by changing the images 3 times and finally my account is now suspended. My app was about cricket world cup 2015. It gives you live scores and team fixtures information. I just used take images of team logos and players from internet. I can take a new account but I think it will not help my cause .... Can any one can help. I am really in trouble ?????
Thanks in advance.

I think problem with title and description of the app, change the app name that name was not similar or same as already exist apps.
mostly your problem was resolved.

This is ridiculous.

On August, my app got suspended, without prior notice what was going wrong. I hate this.

On February, the app was updated with new application name. I noticed that I still use some artist images for the screenshot. On version x.1.3, my update was rejected.

Now I've changed everything: App name, logo, description, promotion banner, screenshots which use uncopyrighted images. My app update is still rejected. I filed them this issue, and also asked: "Now what's my mistake?" It's been 24 hours since I filed them.

These are my artifacts for publication. I don't see any wrong with them.

Hello, guys!
I have read your question and summarized your doubts as following points:

  1. the content of your app is similar to other apps
  2. the design of your app is not professional and special
  3. the quality of your app is not valued

First, I have to declared that analyzing the competitors is an useful method to optimize your app indeed, but you can't imitate all the contents of other apps. About the details of app promotion that you need to do, I will share some effective tips at below:

(1) the Display Name should be short as far as possible.

(2) If your app function is simple, you can use the function as the title. Make a ruler app, for example, you can create the title as ruler, ruler +, xRuler iRuler...And so on. Remembering the goal is to make title appearing in search results easily.

(3) If your app function is complex, you should create a special title of your app.The key is smooth and easy to promote.

(4) you can create a subtitle to explain the feature of your app, which must be clear and attractive.

(5) Put the main keyword in title to increase the search ranking.

When a user find your app on the app stores, the app's icon is undoubtedly the most intuitive and one of the most important element. The user type in the appropriate keywords, the app of the returned list will only display on two elements: the name of the app and its icon.

Some users might read the description of app, and some of the other users may only see the icon, but most people will consider about the two factors at the same time.

Therefore, the icon of your app must be attractive and appealing. Also, the style of the icon must be accord with the style of your app.

  1. the description should be summarized to one sentence to explain the main function of your app

  2. you should pay attention to the first 3 sentences, which can drive people to read more information of your app indirectly.

  3. you can also put the keywords in the description, which can increase the exposure rate of your app.

65%-75% audiences would like to install an app by searching relevant keywords in app stores, so it is necessary to optimize your app keywords with effective ways.

the quality of keywords affects your app ranking. However, promoting the quality of keywords is a tough task, including the relevance, competitive, localization and plural. So, it is necessary to optimize your keywords using some effective ways. If you have enough budget, you can buy keywords search installs from a reliable app store optimization company(asotop1) to promote the search ranking of your app.

screenshots and videos

(1) Screenshots should also be attractive, for it shows the interface of your app directly.

(2) You can add some screenshots of users' review, which can convey the real information and experience of users and attract much more potential users to install your app.

(3) video should be short and interesting, using the dynamic information to introduce your app clearly. Also, you can add the link of your app and other ways of download in the video.

Review serve as an important part of an app, which convey the essential information and real experience of app users. The quality of reviews can decide the installs of your app. The audience would like to choose one app with more positive reviews, indeed, the reviews also influence the installs of your app. So, you can buy app reviews from a reliable app reviews provider(bestreviewapp) to promote your app if you have enough budget.

app promotion is a continuous process for app developers, you have to try your best to optimize your app all the time. Of course, you have to find the most effective methods to help you, combing the own features of your app. Hope this post can help you a lot and good luck to you!

I am developing an app for a FM radio station in my country (Bangladesh). So naturally it has the stations's logo, name and transmit URL. First time I upload the apk as beta and it is suspended within an hour. That time I put placeholder image in the icon, screenshot and banner. Thought when I'll move it to production, will change the images. So after suspension, I thought the placeholder images may cause problem.

To be more safe about copyright infringement, I took an officially signed authorization letter from the company for which I work indicating I am authorized to use their logo and other contents. I file an appeal against suspension attaching the authorization letter. I got the following reply:

Thanks for contacting Google Play. Your appeal has been submitted successfully and will be reviewed by a specialist. The ticket number for your appeal is referenced in the subject of this message.

We are currently experiencing high volumes, so there may be a delay in our response.

I got this email 12 days ago, but got no reply from Google. :(

My client is restless about the delay. So I decide to upload another apk, and this time icon, screenshots and banner is uploaded correctly. But no change in the result! I got suspension mail within half an hours:

After review, Radio Aamar (alpha),, has been suspended and removed from Google Play as a policy strike because it violates the impersonation policy.

I am very much frustrated and under pressure of my client. But got no way how to figure out the actual problem of my app. Can you please tell me how can I make approve the app?

Hi Ratul, I am in exactly the same situation, but I have now been waiting for my second Appeal for a month.

Did they ever get back to you? How long did it take.
