How to fix the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped error

I have read older discussions about this problem (How to fix the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped). I have a LG-E400 with Android 2.3.6. When I sync. my google calendar to the phone I got the error. I have #1 tryed to uninstall google-play and -store. #2 There are no function connected to bottom left button. Only "sort by size". No possibility for enable/disable etc.
Please help

Well @Lars Christensen, Try heading over to the Settings>Application Manager>Swipe Left to navigate to All>Look out for the Download Manager> Tap the Disable Button. Say 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and then again try enabling it ! :) See if this works out for you.
