Samsung Galaxy Note 4 — S Pen Question?

So when my Mom got a galaxy Note 4, I was very impressed with its design and features..so I bought one as well. One thing I noticed was that my S pen did not work on her screen and vica-versa. I recently lost my S pen and can't seem to find it... so I was wondering about buying a new S pen. Would it work with my phone if I bought a brand new one? And is there an "advanced S pen" as well I could buy? I heard something about it and was wondering if it was worth it?

I honestly don't understand why your Spen won't work with her phone. My mother, father and I all have the note 4 and our Spens are all interchangeable.

Her S pen did not work perfectly with her phone either, but it would do basic functions. She must have a faulty unit
