Changing the messages on alerts

Is there a way to change the messages on alerts like when the battery is critical. I've looked around and I can't find any apps to do it (mainly because I don't know what to search). I know it's probably a root thing and I just wanted that tiny bit more customizability. If there's a simple app to do this it would be prefered
