Samsung Galaxy Note 4 — Unable to sync Google acount

in Settings, I go to Accounts>Google>(my email)

I notice that it says 'Sync is turned off', so I click on my email in my Google account, and low and behold it reads at the bottom:Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."

Which is complete bull**, considering it's been giving me this error for a while now

anybody know what the hell is going on here? How do I fix this?

I have the same problem. Both my samsung and google sync/back up are displaying "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." Even if my master sync is turned on.
