Samsung Galaxy Tab — Galaxy Tab not charging

Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000, was working fine with CM. Next day dead, did not charge, display empty, would not react on any method for waking up.

I bought a new battery, still the problem persists.

Interestingly parts of the tab heat up when charger is connected (silver plate, maybe covering the charging electronics), but the device stays in the same dead state.

I charged with 500mA charger as well as 2A charger, both for 1+ days.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure what you've tried already, but there is a bug where the tablet sleeps and can't be woken. If you haven't already tried, keep the power button pressed down and it should vibrate, then turn it on while pressing the screen at the same time.

sincere thanks for your help.

I have already tried all combinations of power button and vol+ and vol-

I can remember the evening before the tab died I flashed an updated version of CM, but the tablet worked fine afterwards. Only by next morning it was dead.

Can the bootloader break in a way it will not react at all any more?
