Previous message sent are not read, message after is?

So I sent a couple of Whatsapp messages and they both were sent with double ticks by the receiver. I didn't get a reply back but noticed their last online was after the message was sent.

The day after I sent another message and it was also received, though this time it was double ticks highlighted blue while the 2 previous messages were still double ticked and grey.

How is this possible is the receiver had them on the phone?

I will explain how Whatsapp sign works:
1 tick - message sent from your device
2 ticks (grey) - message received by receiver's device
2 ticks(blue) - message read by receiver by opening chat window

Hi

I sent some messages. He read the last one as it is blue but the ones before were still grey?

How is it possible if they read the last one how come they not read the one before when it was at the same time with difference of seconds

Some times it happens due to some network error. Nothing is wrong with your device, so relax..!
