Lg optimus l9...questions about drive & storage ptions

Hello I am a newbie to this forum & not very savvy w/ all the features of a smartphone. With that being said...I hope someone will be able to assist me. My phone is low on memory. I installed a sd card; however, it didn't seem to alleviate my memory problem. It could be that I am going about putting the wrong things on there. So my questions are: 1) what should I put on the sd card 2) putting all my pics on my drive...is this something recommended? If so, how? I have file for goggle photos & tried to move the whole file but failed. SO, I selected all & moved them...but they are not there! This slowed my phone down even more. 3) I have two well actually three protection apps 360, z+, & lookout do them all? Could having them all be causing problems interfering w/ one another? I really don't have many apps. downloaded @ least I don't think I do. I uninstalled quite a few. Prior to this phone I had a alcatel fierce 2, I realize it had more memory but geez... I've down sized a lot! I sure hope someone is able to help me w/ my issues...Thank you in advance
