I'm not sure what happened. My volume control buttons work and you can watch the digital slider go up and down but the volume does not change. Any thoughts?

First solution will be clear the cache files of your device. which erase all the unnecessary data from the phone. if it does not help, Factory reset is the second option.

Cache cleared - podcast program delete & reinstalled. No audio control.
