Motorola Moto G — Problems with marshmallow

I wish I'd never installed marshmallow to my Moto G, 2nd Generation phone. I now cannot lock the screen using my PIN, 'notifications' is not working, except for sound, so I have to keep accessing Facebook, texts, email accounts and whatsapp manually every now and then just to check whether I have a message. Can any one tell me how to fix these problems which didn't exist before marshmallow was installed.

Oh dear what have I done! Installed Marshmallow and now the phone lags, apps are slow or unresponsive and installs or updates are a nightmare. Should've kept lollipop!!

Try a cache partition clean then a factory reset

Here is the solution, Go to Setting => Users. Switch user to Guest. Wait to open the Guest environment and again do the switch over to owner. You will see motioned issues are resolved in owner user.
