Weird Mute Icon

Hey there!

There is one contact that i talk to once a day to two.
Once a week i delete a lot of conversations.
I've noticed that in this specific contact, after i delete the conversation, when i search for the contact (using the search and not the contacts page), i see a mute icon next to the contact's name.

Though in the contacts page the icon doesn't appear.

I never muted this contact.
The contact uses an iPhone.

My question is:
Can it be, that the contact muted me and Whatsapp mistakenly show it to me?

I thought it's just a bug, but i deleted lots of people's conversations (some use iPhone, some android), and only on this specific contact the mute icon appears..

What are your thoughts on this?
