Samsung Galaxy Note 2 — Play Store Update not Working

Having recently rooted both my Note 2 LTE (N7105 - And Ver 4.4.2) and Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (T110 - And Ver 4.2.2), I find that updates from the PlayStore don't behave as they once did, and both now have this problem.
It can take hours, or days, for an update to download and install. It may even spend a whole day downloading the app and just sit there doing that until I terminate it.
So, can anyone advise why this might be happening on one, or both, devices.
Rooted using ClockWork Recovery, and Kingoroot and KingoSU.
I deleted a few apps that came with the phone from Optus Aust., but was certain nothing important to this function was lost. Although I could be wrong.

Your Google Store still update but it takes a lot of time, doesn't it?
