Android devices have plenty of apps and games to keep you entertained, but if you want to really enjoy your phone’s experience, there are two thing you need to watch out for, battery and data; the former so you can enjoy games and apps longer and the latter so you won’t have to regret buying the phone when you look at the data bill.

BATTERY SAVING

If you don’t want to be carrying around a power bank with you, here are a few tips to save battery on android phone:

  1. Turn off data services when you’re not using it, Samsung smartphone devices have the option conveniently located on the notification bar where you can easily turn it off. At the very least, you can turn off background data services and still receive important updates like email and WhatsApp.

  2. Disable location services. Google Maps occasionally send information about your location which consumes a lot of data, you can keep this off if you want to save data.

  3. Turn down your screen brightness, or let automatic brightness work for you. The biggest consumer of your battery is the screen, if you can control how much charge is allocated to it, you can have your phone lasting for longer.

  4. Close apps when you’re not using them. When you press the home button, you leave apps running in the background, which still use battery power. Pressing and holding the power button will open the task manager where you can close some apps.
