Will messages sent to lost whatsapp number(which is no longer in use) be delivered when the sim is bought buy new person?

Its been 8 months since I lost my sim card and phone. (The phone had whatsapp installed and that sim card's number was linked to the phone whatsapp)
Recently some of my friends have sent confidential data on that whatsapp no. ( only single tick appears)
Now if a new buyer buys that sim and activates whatsapp with that number, will these pending sent messages (from my friends) get delivered to them ?

Some one please help in this topic.

Hi Freni, welcome to AndroidPIT! :)

It really depends on when the messages have been sent and when the new owner of the number activates the number in WhatsApp. After a certain amount of time those sent messages are not being delivered anymore. After 3 months you should be safe.

Btw. if you lost your Sim card you can always get a new Sim card with the same number again. Just ask your provider ;)
