This is a fairly simple process if you have create a Gmail account, which you probably have if you have created an account for the Google Play Store. Provided that you have saved your contact list directly to your device's internal memory and not your SIM card. Go into Settings -> Accounts and click on your gmail account make sure contacts checked. You contact list will be backup periodically to your Gmail account.

If you want to just make backup of your contact then simply used this method. But if your contacts are deleted and now you want them back then you should use a good software for contacts backup. I am using EaseUs data recovery software and its doing best.

There is a standard way to make backup contacts through the contacts book settings, it’s done like this:

1 Open contact list settings.
2 Go to the Import and Export section.
3 “Export to storage”.
4 Confirm saving backup.
All your contacts will be saved to the VCF file, which will be located in the root folder of the memory card.

Some simple ways to sync your contacts to Google Account are:
1.Settings>Accounts>tap Account sync>click More (three vertical dots)> Sync now.
2. Settings>tap System>Choose Backup (Backup and reset)> Turn on Backup to Google Drive.
