Is there a way to kill the "Speed Dialer"

More often than I use it for my own use that is self dials instead. Once in a while, I hear a faint voice of phone menu or advertisement. It is coming from my phone after I have put it down or in my pocket. I look at the phone and the speed dialer is on and a call is in process. I get comments from someone that my phone called him but left no message..

Chances are that I am accidentally touching a tile on the speed dialer that places the call as I put the phone away.

Realizing that I never use it, how do I get rid of it?
Does it have to be the first screen when go to the phone?
I tried removing all of the entries but two seemed to be undeletable.

The best solution would to have to use a double-click to make a call.'
Is there any hope to fix any of this?
I am not even sure which application carries the phone. I have Nova Launcher, is that the one?
