Your question seems inside mine. But I try to answer you if I can.
I have other mobile with dual sim card and I have another whatsapp account there. I haven't try open other whatsapp account because I suppose will interact with the first one.

I am interested that we would run two or more instances of WhatsApp with respective accounts. In fact, we can actually run two WeChat instances on our Huawei Mate 9 mobiles.

I think you can using a trick.
You can install whatsapp app in your mobile for the main account.
And access the other with whatsapp web from the browser.
But only with one avatar in each one.
I am working in this : Try to change the avatar from the windows application in my windows pc. And chat with the windows application. When finished I change again automatically with the script to the original avatar.
This is possible if you have to change the avatar for ocium purposes and usually you have your professional avatar.
Whatsapp is developing a business version. I have give my data, but I don't if they will consider this in the future and use only one account for all my activities....
