Saving and transferring chat

Hi, i had a s4, bought new fne s7edge. For some reason my whatsapp chats didnt backup. My question is. . Is there any way i can get my chats frm my old phone onto new one. Tried verifying watsap again on my old phone, it let me do that, but then of course i couldnt verify on my new phone. Got blocked from whatsap for 24 hours as i tried to register and re register too many times! Is it too late for me to save and restore my chats frm my old fne to new one?! Somebody help plz!!!!
