When I add a new contact on my phone, both through whatsapp itself and from the standard contacts app, there is no profile picture or status showing from that person.
Does anybody know why this happens/how to fix it?

Have you added a photo as profile picture for the new contact?

There might be some problem with storage location due to which contacts might not be fetched properly.

I haven't, the weird thing is that I tried it with three different people. Only 1 of the contacts actually shows the profile picture and status and everything.

Oh actually, I figured it out. Pretty stupid that I didn't think of this.
The other contacts don't have me in their contact list and have their settings set in a way which makes it so that only their contacts can see their info.
