Hello community
I'm about to purchase a new phone. so far I've only used Apple (have an iPhone 6) but I really would like to try an Android now.
I narrowed down my choices to 2 devices: Google Pixel 2 (not XL) and Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact. I really don't like the huge phones, hence these 2 compact devices.
The Sony was just launched and has the latest Snapdragon 845 processor whereas the Pixel 2 has the older 835 and is "already" 6 months "old". So I'm having difficulties to decide which phone of the 2 is better.
I mainly use the phone for watching Youtube, some surfing and texting. I need to take photos occasionally - if I'm on vacation I bring my real camera.
For me it's important to have a smooth software experience (no lags on the UI) and good update service. Also battery life is important.
From what I've read Sony does a good job at providing updates and their UI on top of Android is not bloated - is that true?
What would your advice be? Thank you for your support!
