don't know which galaxy j i have

In about /device name it just says galaxy j7. Must be a 2015 variant. The model number is sm-j727u. probably dosen't matter. I'm new to android. Looking to slim down the apps, safely without rooting, at least for now. 3 browsers. Disable is greyed out for samsung browser. I see no forum for the j series. [i seem to be rambling]

That model number in your About Phone file IS the answer! That is the model of your j7! There are probably a couple different model j7 and your phone is telling you which one it is!
And that number dose matter!
Example: I have a s7 and I have found out there are at least 3 different models of the s7! And all 3 models differ from each other! Look up your model number on the internet and you will find out how it is different!
