galaxy j7 notification sounds

I am tryimg to add "notification sounds"... not ringtones to my galaxy j7 . I see how to and have sucecfully added ringtones, but what I want to add are the little sounds announcing a new text message. There are many step by step walkthrus explaining how, and they all say to find the folder named notification and put the sound file in it. I downloaded a file manager, asus, but i can't find a folder named notification that the various how to walkthrus recomend. Most of the walkthrus describe how to install ringtones but seem to imply notification sounds are the same as ringtones.
