There is only one way to download applications for an iPad or iPhone, just like on an iPod: through the official store. But in the case of Android devices, the thing is very different. The installation file of any application is a ’.APK’, and can be obtained in the Google Play Store, but also from other sources. Moreover, a user with an installed application can extract this .APK file and share it with any other user.

A very obvious example for this type of needs is Flappy Birds. That game that for a few weeks became viral, to such an extent that its creator decided to withdraw it after its gigantic success and, after only a few days of having been available in the Google Play Store, it could no longer be downloaded. Well, with this simple trick, if a known user has an application that is no longer available in the Play Store, you can easily share it with you.
Any app installed on an Android device can be ‘extracted’ and shared with others

The only thing that is needed is, of course, to have the application that you want to share installed in the terminal and, from here, download APK Extractor completely free of charge. Once we have APK Extractor and open it on your smartphone or tablet, it will show a list of all the apps installed on the mobile device, and selecting any of them we can “extract the APK file”, which is stored in the folder that we have selected in the Settings of the application.

From here, with a file explorer like ES File Explorer we can locate the file in question and, selecting it, click on the Share options. Within this new menu we will find direct access to instant messaging services and storage in the cloud, or even the email client, all these applications ready to send our APK file, which serves precisely for the installation of your own application on any Android terminal.
