How to get links in gmail to open

Error 404

Hey, I recently had a musician friend that lives a bit far away send me links in MP3 format through my Gmail 3 x of his songs and every single time I click on any of them, Google shows me Error 404 and I can't seem to figure out both why they'll not play or how I can get them to. I know they keep telling me go to Google Dashboard or settings, but I can't locate the problem. And of course, I can copy the links or urls but I can't get them to open anywhere else either. And they won't open in Chrome. My friend says they play fine through his Gmail, so can ANYONE PLEASE give me any insight into why this is happening? Thank you. (I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 running on Android 9 btw)

Another case is that even the mp3 files locate on your friend's locale storage at all. If so, the link is maybe just a shortcut to those mp3 files. And those mp3 files are available to him/her while they are unavailable to you.

If the link is 404 and the mp3 files are not available to you now, why not to ask him/her send those files as attachments of an email? The way is simple and reliable. (smug)

I think the mp3 files maybe locate in some cloud storage such as Google Drive, Amazon Drive, Dropbox, ... and so on. But your friend perhaps had not yet granted that shared link to your account properly. Have him/her check the settings.
