So I've got a Huawei Y9 Prime and its lack of an important feature such as face recognition unlocking. So I wonder can I download one from play store? If it is yes what is the most suitable app for it?

I don't know that your phone is allowing a face recognition app or not. But, you should try one of these apps below:

Are your device Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 or Huawei Y9 2018?
The latter does support face unlocking. I just wonder why Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 does not unexpectedly.

Facelock pro is good choice but rather then use external app you have to use default security app that comes with you phone. Because sometime apps goes down or crashed so you face many problems regarding that, so its better that you use default security app.

yeah, it's 2019. Is it because of the pop-up camera? It does not have a camera in the front. That's the only explanation I can think of. But there are smartphones with popup cam with the face recognition feature. I don't know why is this happening. But used to have Face recognition app. that's why I'm trying to install one for this one and check.

Maybe it is due to the pop-up camera. A face unlocking feature of system app is better than an 3rd-party app with the feature.
