Loud notifications during WA-calls

During the last 2 weeks or so my notifications are loud when I am in a Whatsapp call, although I didn't change anything to my knowledge in the settings.

My entire phone is in "vibrate mode" but when I am in a WA call the notifications are loud as hell and keep distracting me (Whatsapp, Instagram, Telegram etc).
2 or 3 weeks ago the messages kept getting in, but were muted and I don't know what has changed since then.

In settings, notifications turn off conversation tones and leave only vibrate on set on default

It is possible that an update has reset the default settings
