LG Optimus F5 — cannot download or transfer anything to external card

i have an lg solo with oreo 8.1 system. i cannot download or transfer anything to external sd card without using computer to transfer. cannot download anything from play store to external card. with internal storage taking up all available space, it mean that the sd card is virtually useless for this phone unless someone has a solution.

Have you selected your card as default write disk in settings?

External Card? Do you mean SD Card? If yes, you can plug it into your LG phone and choose it to save data. If you want to transfer data on your LG phone to an External Card like HDD, you need a computer. With a LG data manager tool, you can transfer data like app, contacts, sms, music, photos, videos, books, call logs from your LG phone to HDD directly.

Have you select the external sd card as your preferred storage method in your app's settings menu?If not.Just go to the settings and look for storage options, then select the SD card option.

As Cora said, have a try after you have set your SD card as the default location of storage.

But now I wonder whether those already-installed apps will still work properly after you change the default location from 'Internal storage' to 'SD card'. I mean those apps which have been installed to internal storage from Google Play Store before you change.
