Leaked iPhone 6 images show 4.7 and 5.5 inch models

Thanks to a new set of images posted by Australia's Sonny Dickson (famous for leaking the iPhone 5s before its announcement last year), we now may have a first side-by-side look at Apple’s iPhone 6 models...

The pictures support rumors that Apple will be producing both a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch version of their flagship smartphone this time around, expected to arrive in September to coincide with the recently revealed iOS 8. They also appear to show a new power button placement on the side of the device, rather than at the top as with the current models. Of course, we don't how authentic the images are, but Sonny Dickson's Twitter account has been a reliable source for leaks in the past.

In terms of scale, the larger device looks more comparable to something like Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 phablet. But if the reports of Samsung's Galaxy S5 Prime are true, and the new model arrives soon sporting a 5.3-inch display, it looks like Samsung and Apple are going to have another serious head-to-head battle with the hype surrounding their premium devices.

Update: 18.06.2014, 4:45 P.M.

TechSmartt have apparently gotten their hands on some dummy models like seen in the above pictures. The handsets, which they say have been sent to phone case manufacturers ahead of the iPhone 6 launch, appear to confirm that a 4.7" and 5.5" version of Apple's flagship smartphone are in production. Here's the video:

What are your thoughts on the new Apple handsets?

  • hehe, it is so fake ;)

  • android forever.

  • I don't think Apple is going to go with 5.5 inches. That is just too big for an IPhone. I know people who own a IPhone 5 and even the 4.0 inch display is too big for them.
I don't mind a 5.5 inch smartphone, but I think the Apple fans prefer smaller phones. The bigger display wouldn't make me change back to Apple. I love Android too much.

    • Yeah I think a 5.5 inch iPhone would be pretty ugly. Pretty heavy too!

Oh yeah, that's why I like plastic over glass and aluminum, also coz replacement is cheaper and ut doesn't get damaged that hard, I mean glass shatters with dangerous shards aluminum looks evil adter getting a few scratches...

But a 5.5 inch iPhone would be interesting, not that I'd give my N3 for that, but if it's cheap in price, it could make a play phone, since with ios in general it looks like with win 8, not really nice but they are going in the right direction (ios 8 and win 8.1 update 1) respectively

Apple fans love smaller phones because Apple doesn't have big phones. Apple fans love whatever Apple throws at them, big, small, square or round! :D

      • Indeed :D

      • I would love to see Apple fans turn on a dime and start raving about how great big screens are after laughing at Android about it for ages. Then they'd probably claim Apple invented large screens in the first place. Let's wait and see...

oh yeah, that's the most funny aspect of it, probably they claim the complete ios 8 as a new invention where except for the (honestly very nice) ios/Mac integration pretty much nothing was new...

Looks totally fake! Apple users know that 4" is the perfect phone size! I'm sure the new perfect phone size will be 4.7 or 5.5 if it's actually true. And all those people saying that 4" is perfect will deeply want the new model. :D
