Moto X Style 2016? Possible new image leaked

If you're a fan of the Moto X line then you'll be happy to hear that Lenovo may announce a successor to the Moto X Style this year. An unconfirmed image from the serial leakster Evan Blass shows what could be the Lenovo Moto X Style (2016). Come see what we know so far about this possible device.

The launch of the new Moto Z left some frustrated Moto fans, since many don't want to trade their Moto X for a modular smartphone. But the picture below, sent by site onwhite to Evan Blass via his Twitter account @evleaks, is the first image we have Moto X Style 2016 and could provide a glimmer of hope to Moto enthusiasts.

There are two noteworthy details in the render: the flash supports the front camera and the speaker is part of the screen.

This comes after the Chinese Compulsory Certificate from August was confirmed as authentic by GSMArena. This showed a 4.6-inch 1080p display with a Helio P10 (MT6755) chipset backed with 3 GB RAM.

What do you want to see with the Moto X Style (2016)? Let us know in the comments.

  • My next phone.

  • Ohhh what a beautiful moto x picture up there. I really hope it comes out. If it does I hope it's carrier friendly I have Sprint. I hope it has touchless control just like the first moto. I hope it has assist and all its functions. I love being able to shake my phone left to right to turn the camera on. I really hope it has ALL of the cool functions the first moto has. Can't wait to buy the pure. Then this moto x 2016 will be next phone after that. Moto forever!

I love the Moto x pure, the first Moto phone I have n the best,i hop they cone out with a new. One 5.5-5.7 inch, front facing speakers ,full water proof, front flash, finger print scanner onthe back n a curved display would be a awesome bonus

  • Over the last 3 years, I have purchased Moto G1 and G3 for my wife and Moto X1 and X2 for myself. All the Motos since then have been too big IMO, hope Moto will revert to a high performance phone in the 5 to 5.2" size again.

  • Hope the new successor be an 5.7"display and also mostly I hope it will run on snapdragon 820 rather than heliop10 and please put the finger print scanner on the back like Nexus devices

  • I had the original Moto X and loved loved loved the size. Moved to the Droid Turbo 2 and the 5.4" is too big - hard to hold and awkward to use with one hand. A 4.6" phone with flagship quality specs would be a must have for me.

I'm ignoring anything smaller than 5.7"
I've got the 2015 moto X pure Edition and plan to hold it until someone makes another reasonably priced 5.7

  • Its like what happened to the American auto industry. I can't quit them when their are possibly better imports. Its called brand loyalty. That being said the time is close when I will be leaving Motorola. If this new Moto X is about the same size as my Moto X Play with the curved back I will probably buy. Mostly I am afraid that other phones can't take the beating that Motorola takes. Fortunately my daughter is older now because she was hard on phones, till I got her Moto G 1 gen. It took her well over a year to break that one. She was hard on Iphones and the price was outrageous. My son in law bought a new Samsung S4 some time ago had it in an otterbox, dropped it for the first time about 2 and a half feet. Processor broke it was a month old. According to forums the S4 was bad for that, S4 and S5 were better. The Pixel looks pretty interesting except for the price. Maybe LG is the way to go. Maybe Lenovo will sell Motorola back to Google.

On my 2nd Moto, looking forward to my next Moto, almost pull the trigger on the last unlocked MotoXPE, but technology is changing so rapidly right now, so I'm sure the next X will be awesome, I'm ready and waiting. I have faith in Lenovo to keep our Moto's pure as possible.

  • I'm glad there are a few supporters seeing how the polls go on other sites talking about how Lenovo is moving production. Away from the folks that originally designed the Moto X and putting them out of a job and work. And how they really never got much of a feel for smartphones seeing their pricing on the Z's. Myself after buying a Moto X 2014 and paying for a 3 year e tended warranty and seeing how they discounted it to 2 years after their purchase and seeing how they have abandoned updated for it quite sometime back although it's still quite a capable phone and really can't be bothered to send out even a security update for the pure and other Moto X phones since then.
It won't be a Motorola but a Lenovo who doesn't care much for user experience as much as trying to sell some new phone for as much as a new I phone.
Myself...I'll never waist my money with them again...and neither should you.

  • I am also a huge Motorola fan. I am hoping they come out with new Moto X also. Don't know who I will be buying from when the X is removed from the line up. I am thinking pixel or Samsung. I have always liked Samsung but they are so fragile. If only Lenovo hadn't bought out Motorola. I have only owned one other brand of smartphone in my life. I had an Lg when I first went from old flip phone to the new style smartphone. I always loved Motorola. I still think that the original Moto G was possibly the best phone ever. You can't kill them.

  • As a Moto X Pure 2015 owner I sure hope this is true and is launched soon. I have no interest in the Moto Z due to the lack of the front facing speakers and higher price. As it stands now I'm looking at the ZTE Axon 7. It has everything I was hoping for in this year's Moto X except Moto's awesome customization features to stock Android. It also has an awesome QHD AMOLED display, dual front facing speakers, fingerprint scanner on back, all aluminum build, support for microSD, support for dual SIM cards, and runs the same processor as the Galaxy S7 all at a $399 price tag. Reviews are amazing aside from the camera and it seems to be similar to the camera on my Moto X Pure. I can live with that.

I am a Motorola fan and am very fond of my Moto X Style, which is a Motorola made device. I am not a fan of Lenovo, if there is a new Moto X model it will be a Lenovo device using the Moto name, not sure how I feel about that! If it comes out and if it has all the good things about it the Motorola Moto X had, I guess I would consider one as a future device. Unless I could find something by someone else that suits me better. I have no loyalties to Lenovo, only Motorola and they are not the same entity they once were sadly.

  • wtf am i the only one thinking this looks waaay too similar to the 2015 Moto X ._. so maybe its just a "Moto X 2015 with Android 7" photo ._.

  • Personally I'm hoping for 5" to 5.2" screen size, fr,facing stereo speakers..
got a feeling if they do 4.6" then maybe the larger size will be 5.5"
one would be a little too small the other a little too large.. size is very personal, 5" to 5.2" being about perfect for me for easy one handed use.
