Initial impressions of both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are largely positive. Both of these flagship Samsung devices show promise in their designs and specs. But which one do you prefer? We're asking you to decide in our latest weekend poll.

For those of you who aren't already familiar with the differences between the two devices, we will give you some of them. You could also read up on them in the two links at the top of the article or click here for our Galaxy S7 vs S7 Edge Comparison

The specs on the S7 and S7 Edge are pretty comparable. They run on the same processor, Samsung Exynos 8890. Their memory storage capacity are the same, they come in either 32 GB or 64 GB. The camera systems on both phones have a 12MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera. The phones run on Android Marshmallow.

The S7 and S7 Edge deviate in a few key places. The battery in the Galaxy S7 is 3000 mAh while it's 3600 mAh in the S7 Edge. The screen size of the S7 Edge is 5.5 inches, 0.4 inches bigger than the S7 in part because the edges curve around the sides of the phone and also because the S7 Edge is a bigger device. The S7 Edge is expected to cost US$50-100 more than the S7.

It's probably not an easy choice but which do you prefer? Let us know in the poll.

The Micro-SD Card is fine for media files and stuff like that, but I still want fast internal storage for my apps and games. I will never again buy a phone with less than 128GB. 32GB is a joke in 2016, especially when you know how cheap storage is.

That's true Daniell, internal memory is cheaper than people think.

Neither. Overpriced, poorly skinned, lacking features marshmallow supports ( adoptable storage) and so on.

Had problems with freezing and the swipe side menu not working in the s6 edge. Verizon replaced with another one and same problems. No more edge for us!

I definitely would get the 5.5 edge of it did not have curved edges. Don't see the benefit. Distorts image and one hand typing gives false back taps. Looks neat but not functional. Love the actual edge features just not the curves.

I would like to see an 5.5 inch S7, I like the bigger screen and battery of the edge but not the rounded edges because of the extra reflections.

I was in two minds as I have a couple of friends who had the S6 and S6 edge and easily managed to cracking the screens on both. Instead I traded my Samsung Galaxy S4 for a Galaxy A5. Great phone and no glass back which I always thought as to delicate to carry around with me. Very happy with A5.

Still dont quite understand the Edge. Why do you want a screen on the edge of the phone?

According to the poll 75 % want it compared to 29 % of the s7 so a LOT of people want it including myself who has one on the way.

        Hi Teresa,
I think that many who voted for the Edge version of the S7 did it because of the bigger screen (and better screen-to-body ratio) and a bigger battery (for an equal number of pixels).
I personally share the concerns of the ones who don't see practical use of the edges and fear about their higher probability of breaking. On the other side, the look of the phone is amazing and the curved screen also makes it possible to have a great screen-to-body size ratio.
That said, I wouldn't personally buy any of the two, because are too expensive for what they offer. Furthermore, what's the deal of being forced to use a cover on a beauty like the S7 Edge? Much better just buy something you can actually use without fear of wasting money on a delicate piece of vane, powerful fragility.

love/voted the Edge BUT..... I'll be going for the regular as can't justify the combination of an extra £5/month here in the UK, the extra height and most importantly the way the curves mean I lose a lot of protection offered by a case. NOT something I can risk with a 3 year old :-/
