All you need to do to take advantage of the free app deal is download the standard free version of Runtastic and go to Settings > Enter Promotion Code. Then type in ''appoftheday'' and restart the app to enable the unlimited Pro features. The Pro version gives you ''Voice Coach'' feedback during workouts, live tracking, heart rate zone analysis, calorie and pace goals, geotagging and weather data. Plus, it's ad-free and supports Google Earth views of your routes.

  • Hey Kris, i downloaded the app, entered the code and it's telling me it's only a trial version not pro forever, i don't see the point i'll just have to pay the membership after 12 days....

I've emailed runtastic directly as nowhere in the app of the day advertisement does it say trial so i'm a bit confused...

  • Thanks for sharing that look a facinating and awesome free application. Is it really free ?

  • thanks Kris, got the pro version...

    • Nice work! You must have just made the cut because I think the deal is over now (both the free upgrade and the discounted Pro version)

Hi Kris, thanks for the info. Got myself a free app.
The Pro version is selling for $5.49 on my Play Store.

  • Thanks for sharing this!

Hey Kris, first of all thanks a lot for the news and how-to! I was wondering what happens if I have to reset my phone and/or reinstall the app? Is the code connected to my account in some way? Because the app is still the free version, not the pro one. Thanks in advance!!

    • Hey @Dschuls, that's a good question. I would assume once an app is unlocked via a promotion that is connected to your Google/Facebook account that it will remain so regardless of factory resets, device migration. I have plenty on my Nexus 5, which I only switched over to a while back, and all of my unlocked/upgraded/promo apps have always been fine for me. For a definite answer you'd have to contact Runtastic directly though.

Hey Kris, I just tried it with simple reinstall, which worked fine. I guess this also works if you make a factory reset. Thanks for your detailed answer.

  • Hi Kris, I've just clicked on the link to the Play Store, but this is showing £0.99, not free. Am I missing something?

    • Hey Scott, just click the link to the standard Runtastic (the top one). For the free upgrade, you just follow the steps in the article from the free version. i added the Pro version button for anyone who misses out on the free upgrade but still wants the 99 cent version. Sorry for the confusion.
