Nougat firmware ready to download for Galaxy S7, but no Edge yet

Samsung's taken its sweet time in rolling out Android Nougat to its flagship S7 and S7 Edge handsets, but if you don't have the patience to wait, read on to find out how you can get your hands on it without waiting.

I would love to be part of the AndroidPIT team.

OK, OK, waiting for an OTA update that might not even be ready for you is no fun, so if you want to skip that wait and go ahead and download the full Android 7.0 Nougat firmware and install it manually, you can do that via SamMobile. Before you skip off merrily to download it though, you should know that it's only available for the S7 version (SM-G930F), not the Edge right now.

What's more, the firmware's only available for two regions - the UK and the Czech Republic - so it's best not to download it unless you know what you're doing and are based in one of those two countries. The BTU build is for the UK, while the O2C versions are aimed at Czech handsets.

If you're happy tinkering with your phone, you can go ahead and download the Nougat files and flash them to your phone right away. If you've got root access on your device, an app like Flashify makes the process even easier for beginners.

Will you be downloading the S7 update and installing manually? Let us know in the comments below!

This is a joke. My provider hasn't even listed the update as received for testing so it'll be at least a month before I get it. You would have thought with the Note disaster they would have thrown everything into getting this update out quickly?

  • My S7 updated to N on the 17th Jan. Originally brought SIM free from Samsung in the UK. Working great so far.

  • Question, I'm in the US on the Verizon variant SM g930v but haven't flashed to the g930u would I be able The Flash to the g930f build update to nougat and still have my phone work in my region? I know how to do the flashing just not sure if with it being an international version if it will affect my phone any information will be greatly appreciated

  • Story is the wrong way around - Nougat was release for the S7 Edge first; it's wasn't at time of writing available for the S7 ....

Edge panel works fine, only concern is my antutu score is low like 90k

  • I need my phone to be reliable first and foremost as I rely on it at work. Being on a US carrier variant s7 that means an extended wait for the polished version but I can't be tinkering with my phone when I need to be on the go.

  • My s7 edge was updated to android 7.0 on Tuesday but no update for the wife's s7 yet.

    • Just curious, since this article said the Nougat update isn't available in the US yet. Other articles have stated the update would start in the US first & would be finished updating by mid- January. Those articles also said that WHEN the Nougat update gets pushed to our phones (I have Galaxy 7 Edge) depends on your carrier. I have Verizon- the most expensive company with no unlimited data plans (I just LOVE paying double for less) (add sarcasm & disgust here) - so I guess we'll get Nougat last. Verizon has been silent on the issue. I just hope to get Nougat before the next update arrives. Let's get it done NOW Verizon! Please?

  • My edge updated on Tuesday 17th

Check out the manual download link attractivereview . com/2017/01/18/how-to-download-galaxy-s7-and-s7-edge-official-android-7-0-nougat-ota-update/ for the firmware with build number G930FXXU1DPLT (BTU and O2C) and the step-by-step guide below to aid you in installing the official Android 7.0 Nougat update on your Galaxy S7.
The BTU code denotes that the firmware is for UK and the O2C code refers to Czech Republic. So, you need to download the appropriate firmware for your region or language being used.

  • The official update will come soon and I'll wait for it patiently.

  • Btu firmware for the edge is now available too.
