Battery is the pits

One of the problems encountered is that the battery now has poor durability. To solve this problem, we recommend downloading an app like Battery Doctor, with which you can check the status of your battery and manage applications that consume energy unnecessarily.

Multi Window mode isn't working

Another problem is that the Multi Window mode isn’t working for some of you. To resolve this, go to Settings, then My device and select Home Screen Mode. Set the easy mode and then back to the standard one. Finally, reboot your device.

Notifications aren't on par

Many users of the Galaxy S3, once having updated their device to 4.3 Jelly Bean, have also had some problems with notifications and are receiving old ones. This problem can be solved by selecting the Downloads app and deleting all downloads present.

Everything has taken a turn for the worst!

As for problems with audio, sharing images from the gallery or other applications that are having issues regularly, unfortunately the only thing that really works is to backup your data and perform a factory data reset, thereby canceling the upgrade with all of its bugs.

Daria discovered what is now her favorite operating system when she decided to buy her first smartphone back in 2011: a Samsung Galaxy Mini. Needless to say, she spent days exploring the different settings and functions, only to discover that it was merely the surface she was looking at. Android is full of secrets and hidden possibilities and it became a game for her to try and uncover all of them. This is why she joined the AndroidPIT team, to share all those secrets with the rest of the Android fans.

I am a galaxy S3 android 4.3 user. my app notifications like whatsapp, facebook are delayed while phone is in sleep mode.also tango calls can only receive if i open this app. viber showed missed calls without ringing. i have checked wi-fi sleep setting and it is set to 'always on' and my wifi connection strength is strong.

I was first quite disappointed that my phone AUTOMATICALLY upgraded to this 4.3 jelly bean, after months of trying to avoid upgrading! After the upgrade, I had the common problem of the draining battery. I tried everything possible but everything i tried, seemed to make the problems worse! A few weeks ago, i was using face book app, lines started to flash horizontally on my screen like it was a tv loosing signal, and it turned off. And on and off....... until i got home and put it on the charger. Between 45 and 99% battery it will happen and suddenly 1% battery life. It won't work unless its on the charger! I've spoken to my provider and they say they can't help. does anyone have any advice?

Battery life SUCKS since updated. I replaced my battery, to no avail. I did the reset and lost EVERYTHING, even after doing the SAMSUNG SUGGESTED/INSTALLED BACKUP TOOL. I am at a loss, actually thinking of chunking this thing off of the balcony. I really wanted a S5 until they did this stupid, suck a$$ update. It's been 7 months and Samsung can't even offer a fix for it?

My phone shut off and now won't turn back on or even charge. it just vibrates once and shows the samsung screen and then samsung galaxy s3 and then goes black. nothing is working to fix this. any advice?

mine does that, but it will work only while its charging. I've been doing some research for a while now, and it seems you might have the common "Sudden Death" problem. People have been posting that they have taken their problem to Samsung and having it fixed under warranty. The most common diagnosis is short circuit of the main cpu( or something). They paid nothing. Hope this info helps:)

I work in Costco and sell cell phones for Verizon, ATT, Sprint. I have worked there for 2 years now and I can honestly say I have never seen an update this bad before. It seems to me that this update was not at all meant for the s3. I have talked to dozens of people asking for help on this issues with a wide variety of problems, these few just the tip of the iceberg. I have not spoken to a single person who has done the update and not had any issues. The only thing I have found to help is to do a factory reset. This definitely is not a for sure fix it but it does seem to help in most cases.

For a month and a half I've been having battery issues. My charger cable has a little wire coming out so I figured that was the problem. My phone would not reach 100% even when it was on the charger all night. I assumed it was the charger, the battery, or my usb port. I had used my sisters charger for an entire week and it finally charged properly and even really fast. Today, I just bought a brand new charger and plugged it in because it was completely dead. My phone wouldn't turn on. I plugged it into my computer and it's on now but it's still having charging issues. The low battery notification pops up constantly even though it claims to be charging so I'm going to try the factory reset. I'm so frustrated I don't care what gets deleted.

My photo Gallery does not work. I have Turned On Paper Artist and then powered down and removed the battery. I have turned OFF Paper Artist then powered down and removed the battery.

Still have a Gallery that almost never works and when it does its after 5 to 10 minutes of waiting.

Anyone know a App to use in place of Gallery?

If you go into settings on your phone, under application manager and find gallery on your list of all apps. You can actually turn specific apps off and then turn them back on. This seems to reset it and it usually works fine after that. I tried this personally on my own s4 and it did not delete anything so you should be fine there. Hope that helps!

jelly bean 4.3 works perfectly in my s3 but it has one negative point that now you can't share music from music player through bluetooth or wifi.for sharing music you have to go to my files and from there you can share music.this feature sucks.

    Multi Window mode isn't working!!
This trick works only to restore the side bar on the left side. But no real multy screen are possible. Opened applications (from the side bar) are opened in separate windows!!
For me this function still DON'T WORK.

Installing Zedge ( and choosing a notification tone from there allowed a friend to be able to use notification volume controls which were previously locked post-update.

I did not have any problems with the update. I have been hearing some horrible problems others have experienced.

I saw somewhere that turning off all Samsung apps will help. I did and it solved the battery drainage.

I took out the battery and when I restarted the phone the camera worked, as did the on/off switch. The battery even seems to be draining a tiny bit more slowly. I eagerly await the updates that will improve the whole thing!

  • Susan blum Jan 21, 2014 Link to comment

The battery on my Galaxy s3 has been draining very fast. I can't get through a day without recharging it. Now the camera won't work at all. And when I tried to restart the phone, I can't even turn it off. I am reluctant to revert to the earlier version I Jelly Bean because it seems time-consuming but I may be forced to.
